Carah von Funk brings more than 20 years of entertainment and alternative media and marketing media experience to The Buyer Group’s talent roster. Her forte is identifying touch points between brands and popular culture, and then tapping an extensive entertainment and alternative media network to bring like-minded parties together. The result is hyper-efficient, win-win alliances and groundbreaking, integrated cultural campaigns that bring unprecedented value to a highly targeted consumer.
Most recently von Funk worked at Crispin Porter + Bogusky as Head of Alternative Business Development and Strategic Alliances, where she founded the agency’s branded content distribution and entertainment department. Prior to CP+B in 2000, von Funk co-founded the alternative media consulting and interdisciplinary artists representation firm MAMA. MAMA was the first rep's firm to apply the CAA model of "packaging" to the marketing industry.
She has worked as a producer and executive producer in practically all media including digital/web content. She was amongst the first 30 employees at media-darling Razorfish where she served as Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Alliances for their Studios Division in New York. Over her eclectic career, von Funk has also worked in production on award-winning spots, music videos and films including Errol Morris' "The Thin Blue Line" and Nancy Savoca's "True Love."
As alternative and integrated media consultant, Carah’s extends to brands such Blockbuster, Budweiser, New Line Cinema, Dewar's, Amnesty International, Sprint via Goodby, Silverstein and Partners, Tanqueray, Miramax, Vivienne Tam, Nike, Presto!, H&M, and HBO.
Von Funk holds a B.A. in Film and Television from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and a Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University.
